Karnataka CET KEA 2012–13 Common Entrance Test

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) issued Notification & invites applications from eligible students to appear for Common Entrance Test (CET 2012 – 13) for getting admissions to First Year / Semester of Medical & Engineering Professional courses under Government quota seats in Professional Colleges of Karnataka.



Common Entrance Test of Karnataka is one of the most prestigious Entrance Exam in India for getting admissions into Medical Courses like MBBS, BDS, Ayurveda (ISHM) / Homeopathy, Unani, Naturopathy, Yoga & Engineering Courses like B.E, B.Tech, Architecture Courses . The KarnatakaExamination Authority the erstwhile CET Cell of Karnataka is the autonomous authority formed by Government of Karnataka to conduct the Test, Publishing of Rank & Seat Selection (Counseling) Process.

Common Entrance Test 2012 –13 Notification

CET 2012 –13 consists of four papers viz subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology & Mathematics. Candidates seeking admission to any medical courses should compulsorily appear for PCB papers. Candidates seeking admission to Engineering Courses should compulsorily appear for PCM Papers. Candidates seeking Architecture (B.Arch) Course should also appear for NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by Council of Architect in addition to PCM Papers of CET 2012 –13.

Education Qualification :

*. Medical Courses : PUC / 12th Std / 10+2 or equivalent with PCB as optional subjects & English as one of the language with min. 50% of marks. (40% for SC/ST/OBC)

*. Engineering Courses : PUC / 12th Std / 10+2 or equivalent with PCM as optional Subjects & English as one of the language with min. 45% of marks. (40% for SC/ST/OBC)

*. Architecture Course : PUC / 12th Std / 10+2 or equivalent with Mathematics as compulsory subject with min. 50% of marks & appear for NATA test and obtain min. 40% marks.

Brochure & Application Form Fee : Rs. 650/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/Cat-1) Payable through Demand Draft drawn in favor of ‘The Executive Director, Karnataka Examinations Authority , Bangalore” Payable at Bangalore.

How to Apply : The CET 2012 – 13 Brochure & Application Forms will be supplied through the schools / colleges within Karnataka where the students are studying 2nd PUC. Candidates should submit the Demand Draft for the requisite amount to request for the Application & Brochure.

Karnataka Candidates residing outside Karnataka can obtainthe application & brochure through Speed Post by sending self addressed cover.

Karnataka Candidates residing outside India can obtain the Application by payment of Rs. 5000/- DD with self addressed cover.

CET 2012 –13 Seat Selection Process : From this year there will be change in seat selection process. The Seat Selection Process will be done through Online & documents verificationwill be done through the 10 notified helpline centers setup byKEA for this purpose.
